What is the Joan Gamper Trophy?
Gamper Cup is an annual friendly football match held in August, before the start of FC Barcelona’s La Liga season, where top division clubs from Europe compete against them. The competition is hosted by FC Barcelona at the Camp Nou stadium and is named in honor of Joan Gamper, a founding member, player, and later president of the club.
The competition was inaugurated in 1966 by Enric Llaudet, one of Gamper’s successors as club president. The trophy itself is an 800-gram (1.8 lb) silver cup with five micrometers of gold finishing, on top of a 10-kilogram (22 lb) marble plinth base.

Camp Nou means new field, often referred to as Nou Camp in English), a football stadium in Barcelona, Spain. It opened in 1957 and has been the home stadium of FC Barcelona ever since. With a seating capacity of 99,354, it is the largest stadium in Spain and Europe and the fourth largest association football stadium in the world in power.
On 15 March 2022, it was announced that music streaming service Spotify had reached an agreement with FC Barcelona to acquire the naming rights to the stadium in a $310 million deal. The stadium will be renamed Spotify Camp Nou in July 2022, following the approval of the sponsorship agreement with Spotify by an extraordinary gathering of FC Barcelona delegates on 3 April 2022. In April 2022, it was announced that renovations to the stadium would begin after the season ends in June 2022.
