IPL Champions List; The Indian Premier League (IPL) is a professional men’s Twenty20 cricket league, played by ten teams from ten cities in India. The league was established in 2007 by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). It is usually held in March and May each year and the ICC Future Tour program has an exclusive window.

 A total of 15 events have been held, including the 2022 IPL. According to the BCCI, the 2015 IPL season contributed ₹ 1150 crore (US $ 150 million) to the GDP of the Indian economy.

When was IPL first season started?

The league was established in 2008 by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The founder of this league and former commissioner Lalit Modi is considered as the inventor of this league.

What is the price of IPL Cup?

A total of ₹ 500 million (₹ 530 million or equivalent to US$7.0 million in 2020) was offered for the 2019 IPL season. The winning team is ₹ 200 million (equivalent to ₹ 210 million in 2020 or US$2.8 million).

The first and second runners-up received ₹ 125 million (US$1.7 million) and ₹ 87.5 million (US$1.2 million), respectively. No prize money is given to other parties. According to the rules of IPL, half of the prize money has to be distributed among the players.
